Privacy Policy
How Route & Fuel handles account data, optional location features, analytics, app functionality and deletion requests.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Metro Studios ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Route & Fuel UK mobile application.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data transparently and responsibly.
2. Information we collect
Account and authentication data: name and email address provided via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, plus authentication provider identifiers.
User content and preferences: units, currency, notification settings, vehicles, favourites, saved journeys and fill-ups you choose to store.
Subscription and purchase data: product identifiers, purchase identifiers or tokens, entitlement status and obfuscated account identifiers used to verify and provide paid features.
Location data: precise location only when you grant permission, used to show nearby fuel stations and calculate routes/distances.
We do not continuously track or store background GPS history. If you save journey or fill-up records, we may store location-linked fields as part of that saved content, such as station coordinates, start/destination coordinates and route geometry.
Device, usage and push data: device model, OS version, screen views, feature usage, rewarded ad validation, traffic usage counters, diagnostics/crash data and push notification tokens where enabled.
Request and security logs: user ID, email address, IP address, user agent, endpoint, request time and related request metadata where needed for security, fraud prevention, support and reliability.
3. How we use your information
- Provide nearby station, route, saved vehicle, favourites and fill-up features.
- Personalise your experience using preferences and saved content.
- Verify subscriptions and provide paid features.
- Send notifications and alerts where enabled.
- Maintain app security and prevent abuse or fraud.
- Monitor performance, diagnose issues and improve reliability.
4. Sharing and third-party services
We do not sell your personal data.
Some features use trusted third-party providers for cloud hosting/storage, maps, postcode lookup, routing, live traffic, authentication, diagnostics, advertising, in-app purchases and push notification delivery.
Map display and directions may use Google Maps. Postcode lookup may use postcodes.io and local postcode data. Routing and live traffic calculations may use third-party routing and traffic providers, including TomTom where required by provider terms.
We generally rely on contract to provide account and app features, consent for optional permissions and personalised advertising where required, legitimate interests for security and reliability, and legal obligations where applicable.
5. Advertising
The app may display advertisements using Google AdMob. Advertising partners may collect device identifiers, IP address and approximate location. Ads may be personalised or non-personalised depending on your device settings, consent and applicable laws.
6. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the app and its features. Account data is retained while your account remains active. Request/security logs are normally retained with TTL up to 14 days. Limited backups and disaster-recovery copies may be retained temporarily for security, legal or recovery purposes before expiry.
7. Data deletion and your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing of your personal data. Account deletion may be available in the app, or you can contact us by email.
You may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office where applicable.
8. Security, children and transfers
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure. The app is not intended for children under 13. Your data may be processed in the UK, EU and United States depending on our service providers, with safeguards applied where required.
