Where the information comes from

Fuel prices, MPG and route details each have a clear role

It helps to know which numbers are listed by stations, entered by you or estimated for a journey.

Fuel prices

UK Government and retailer price entries are turned into station, area and national price summaries.

Vehicle economy

MPG and tank details come from the driver, vehicle details or clearly labelled estimates when an exact value is unavailable.

Maps, routes and traffic

Map display, directions, postcode lookup, routing and traffic may use specialist providers. Coverage and update timing can vary.

Public-sector information

Government information is reused subject to its attribution and licence terms, including the Open Government Licence where it applies.

Before prices are compared

Basic checks before prices appear

Route & Fuel checks that the fuel grade, price, location and price change time are suitable before showing a price in website comparisons.

Price age

Use the price-change time before travelling

A station may keep the same price for several days. The price change time shows when the station price last changed, so check it before making a special journey.

Changed recently

The station price changed within the last 24 hours. Check when each price last changed before filling up.

Changed in the last 3 days

Still useful for comparison, but check again before making a special journey.

Older price

Clearly labelled with its age and not used for current lowest-price summaries.

Report a problem

Send enough detail to reproduce it

Email info@metrostudiodevs.com with the station, postcode, fuel grade, price shown, time observed and a screenshot where safe. Do not take photos while driving.

Questions drivers ask

Clear answers before you fill up

A fuel price is useful only when you know the grade, when it changed and whether the extra journey is worth it.

Where do the prices come from?

The website uses UK Government Fuel Finder data and permitted retailer price entries where available. The source and price-change time should stay with the price.

What happens when a fuel price looks wrong?

A price that does not match the fuel grade, station location or surrounding data can be left out of low-price comparisons until it can be checked.

How do I report a wrong price?

Email the station name, postcode, fuel grade, displayed price and the time you saw it so the price can be checked.
