A fuel price is useful only when you know the grade, when it changed and whether the extra journey is worth it.
How do I find cheap fuel near me?
Enter a full UK postcode or allow current-location access, choose the grade your vehicle uses and select Compare stations. Results show up to 10 matching stations, with list and map views, the listed price and when it last changed.
Can I search by a full postcode?
Yes. A full postcode locates the search centre and includes nearby stations across postcode boundaries. An outward code such as M32 returns matches within that postcode area. If the full-postcode lookup is unavailable, the tool explains when it falls back to outward-code matches.
How far away are the results?
For a full postcode or current location, the search starts within 10 straight-line miles and expands to 20 or 30 miles if fewer than three matching stations are found. The results state the radius used. Straight-line distance is not the driving distance; use Maps to check access and the journey.
What if location access is blocked or there are no results?
Enter a full postcode if your browser cannot share a precise location. For no matches, check the postcode and your fuel grade, then remove optional station filters or try a nearby postcode. Keep to a fuel grade approved for your vehicle. You can also compare stops along your journey in the route planner.
How recent are the station prices?
Each result shows when the selected fuel price last changed. Searches include available prices up to 28 days old. A data check does not reset that price-change time, and an older timestamp can mean the price has stayed the same. Confirm the pump price before filling.
How much could a cheaper station save me?
The local comparison uses a 55-litre example fill and excludes extra driving. For illustration, a 3p-per-litre difference saves £1.65 on 55 litres before detour fuel costs. Use your own fill amount, MPG and route in the route planner or journey cost calculator.
Nearby price or a stop on the way?
Use the postcode search for a local top-up. If you are already travelling, compare fuel stops along your route so a low price does not hide a long diversion. The journey cost calculator lets you use your own MPG, fuel price and fill amount.
Check the station details for opening hours and facilities where supplied. A 24-hour or supermarket filter helps narrow the list, but the map and driving directions still matter when a station is across a river or on the other carriageway.
