About Route & Fuel

Built for the fuel stop worth the trip.

Route & Fuel helps UK drivers find fuel prices, compare useful stops and see whether a cheaper station is still worth the extra drive.

Why Route & Fuel exists

Fuel price tables are useful, but the real decision is usually made on the move: is this cheaper station actually worth the stop? Route & Fuel brings public station prices, how far each stop is from your journey, detour fuel cost and live traffic into one mobile-first decision.

The goal is simple: show the fuel stop that actually saves money, with the estimated saving visible before the driver commits.

Why fuel apps matter now

The CMA found that a typical family car could save up to £4.50 a tank by using better price transparency within a five-minute drive. From 2 February 2026, the UK Fuel Finder service requires fuel price updates within 30 minutes of a change, and its reported details include current prices, station details, amenities and time-stamped updates.

Route & Fuel is built for that new market, but it does not stop at listing the lowest price. A cheap pump can still be the wrong choice if the detour is poor, traffic is heavy or the saving disappears once extra fuel is counted.

What makes it different

  • Savings for this journey finds strong fuel stops along the journey you are already taking.
  • Live traffic checks add detour timing, so time is not hidden inside a cheap headline price.
  • saving checks compares nearby stations against a relevant local benchmark and the fuel used getting there.
  • Station pages show current prices, 30-day price history, opening times and available facilities.
  • Favourites, alerts, fill-up history, journey tracking and cost tracking make the app useful after the first search.
  • Premium-fuel labels, fuel type filters, facilities, open-now filtering, Google Maps directions and offline access to previously loaded station information help with practical decisions.
  • Multi-language, unit, currency and time-format support keeps the app comfortable for more drivers.

Free to use, deeper when you need it

Route & Fuel is free to use. Free includes a weekly live traffic saving check, while Plus and Pro add up to 5 and 14 weekly live checks, higher limits and a deeper savings toolkit. For many UK drivers, one well-chosen fill-up can be worth more than a month of Plus or Pro.
