Delete Account and Data
How to delete your Route & Fuel account and request removal of associated app data.
1. Overview
This page explains how users of Route & Fuel UK can request account deletion and what happens to associated data.
If you signed in with Google or Apple, you can delete your account and associated in-app data directly from the app.
2. Delete in app
- Open Settings.
- Go to Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion prompt.
3. Delete without app access
If you cannot access the app, email info@metrostudiodevs.com from the email linked to your account and use the subject line Delete account request. We may ask for limited verification to prevent unauthorised deletion requests.
4. Data deleted with account deletion
When deletion is processed, we delete account-linked data stored by our app backend, including account profile details, saved preferences, favourites, vehicles, journeys, fill-ups, location-linked saved content, price alerts and push notification tokens. Data stored locally on your device is also removed by the in-app delete flow. The minimal temporary deletion marker described below is the only Users-table record retained after this cleanup.
If you signed in with Apple, Route & Fuel attempts to revoke its Apple authorisation during deletion. If Route & Fuel still appears afterwards, on iPhone open Settings > [your name] > Sign in with Apple > Route & Fuel and tap Delete. You can also use account.apple.com > Sign-In & Security > Sign in with Apple.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel any active subscription through your Apple or Google account if you no longer want it to renew.
5. Data kept temporarily
After account deletion, we retain a minimal authentication-linked deletion marker for a 35-day prevention window solely to make deletion retries safe and stop delayed or concurrent sign-in requests from recreating the account. It contains only the app user ID, deleted state, deletion completion time, token version and expiry time. It is marked to expire after 35 days; database removal may occur asynchronously after the expiry time.
Some other limited records may be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal and disaster-recovery purposes. Request/security logs may include user ID, email address, IP address, user agent, endpoint, request time and related request metadata, and are normally retained with TTL up to 14 days. Traffic-quota counters remain until TTL expiry, and some backups can retain deleted records for up to 35 days. We do not keep a continuous background GPS history on our servers.
6. Partial deletion options
Without deleting your full account, you can remove certain data in app, such as individual journeys, vehicles, fill-ups and alerts, or contact support to request deletion of specific account data.
7. Processing timeline
In-app deletion requests are processed immediately after successful request validation. Any retained backup/log data then expires on its configured retention schedule.
